TEDxWaltham is an independently organized TEDx event, operating under a license from TED Conferences, LLC. This privacy policy will explain how we use the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

What data do we collect?

TEDxWaltham collects the following data:

  • Personal information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)

  • Ideas as part of speaker nomination applications

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide TEDxWaltham with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Complete any of our online forms such as contact forms, speaker applications, or ticket requests.

  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.

  • Use or view our website via your browser's cookies.

 

TEDxWaltham may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:

  • Third party websites we use to sell tickets for our events.

How will we use your data?

TEDxWaltham collects your data so that we can:

  • Sell you tickets to our events.

  • Consider your speaker applications and/or nominations and/or volunteer applications. 

  • Email you with updates about our events.


 

If you agree, TEDxWaltham shares email addresses of event attendees with TED Conferences, LLC to receive a one time only email to complete a post-event survey.  Sharing this information does not add you to TEDxWaltham or TED’s mailing lists.  

 

TEDxWaltham uses a third-party ticketing service to process ticket orders, the privacy policy of the third part service applies for those purchases.

How do we store your data?

Data you provide to TEDxWaltham through our website is securely stored within our web hosting platform, Wix, or within our password protected Box drive.

 

TEDxWaltham will keep your speaker application data for up to 12 months. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data.  If you have subscribed to our mailing list for event & ticket updates, we will keep your email address and name until you request to be removed from our mailing list.  We may periodically request that you opt-in to continue receiving updates from us.

Marketing

TEDxWaltham would like to send you information about our events that we think you might like, as well as those of other local TEDx events.

 

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

 

You have the right at any time to stop TEDxWaltham from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other members of the TED Conferences, LLC.
